Student Fashion for Unisa Students
Long distance study means that if you wanted to you could complete your UNISA studies wearing just about nothing. In summer this could be quite comfortable. And if you are a live-alone, full-time long-distance student it would not be disconcerting for anyone. Your dog and cat would not take offence as after all they are naked all the time.
If ,however, you do prefer to be clothed there is one article which has stood the test of time and has long been a favourite of students. I refer of course to the humble and ever fashionable T-shirt.
The First T-Shirt
Claiming to have invented the T-shirt is a little like claiming to have invented the wheel - the invention of neither can be attributed to any one person. Various online sources including a number of Q&A sites suggest that the T-shirt was first worn as an undergarment by European soldiers in World War 1. American soldiers noticed the comfort the garment offered and adopted it themselves. It was only in the 1950's that it began to become socially acceptable to wear a T-shirt as the only garment covering the top half of the body. This acceptance was likely caused by Hollywood's representation of T-shirts as worn by iconic actors like Marlon Brando and James Dean.
Famous T-Shirt designs.
There is no proof of this but I think that one of the most popular T-shirt designs ever is that which sports the iconic Che Guevara image. Rumour has it that this particular image was never copyrighted and could therefore be mass produced, simultaneously by an number of T-shirt companies.
Unique T-Shirts
In a world of mass production and brand names uniqueness is hard to come by. The T- shirt industry is dominated by brand names like, Nike, Levis, Hilfiger, Abercrombie & Fitch, Guess etc. It is refreshing to know then that humerous and unique T-shirt designs are being designed and sold by a South African company. Springleap offers a variety of T-shirts which offer a certain something different. Visit their site by clicking on the image below.
