It’s here – the
beginning of the end. At least it is if you are a believer of the assumption
that because the Mayan calendar ends in 2012; therefore the world ends in 2012.
As I do not believe
that the world will end 2012 I don’t think it’s worth my while to conduct
research into the matter. Anyway, if the world does end in 2012 we’ll all know
about it soon enough.
When considering
such matters it is worth noting that such similar doomsday predictions, thus far,
have had an excellent inaccuracy record of 100.0000%.
Proliferators of such predictions obviously
either never heard, or never understood the fable/parable of the little boy that
cried “wolf”.
In my relatively
short life I have heard numerous “Apocalypse” warnings. The last time the world
was supposed to end was last year………. in October I think.
Those Unisa students
that have chosen to continue their studies this year, clearly believe that the
world will not end – or maybe they just believe that in the event of imminent destruction
their last days will be best spent in the pursuit of education. Even in the
event of mass destruction Education is never wasted.
